The word scholar is held in high esteem when it comes to the academic corridors. Now imagine a scholar, having grammatical errors or punctuation errors in their work. That name will become downgraded instantly. People will begin to question whether that scholar is even qualified. It is common human nature to judge others harshly for their mistakes. If you are, however, someone who likes self-preservation and would like to keep your reputation as a scholar clean and untainted, then you will agree with me that grammarly application is a necessary evil in your work. Of course, not everyone will agree with me on this one, but as the saying goes, ‘the end justifies the means’. After all, your scholarly submissions do not have a compulsory requirement that you should attach a grammarly report. However, most professors consider grammar in their marking sheet for essay and research papers rubric.
There are a number of reasons to use grammarly, and I am here to give you these reasons so as to convince you to always have outstanding and great work out there.
- Easy to use
This is of the easiest applications to use. It easily integrates with most of the browsers and can detect writing in any form. What’s even better is that it also gives correction suggestions as well as definitions for words.
Users of grammarly can easily switch from one language to another; UK and US English versions. For instance, ‘flavor’ and ‘flavour’. This allows you to stay within your given language of choice and not confuse your audience.
- Enhances a Document
A well punctuated piece of works gives the reader joy compared to a document that has errors. The document has an overall improvement once these little errors are out of the way and gives it a flow.
Grammarly is also useful in creating a great context for one’s piece. For instance, a word may have been used out of context and the grammarly application will point it out for the user to rethink the sentence. Sometimes word are mispelt out of context and this can be sorted out. For instance, the use of ‘advice’ and ‘advise’.
Not only does the grammarly application correct errors, it also offers suggestions. Incase there is a misuse of a word or repititions, grammarly will point this out and offer suggestions to help improve your document. Tell me again why you think scholars shouldn’t use this amazing application?
- Passive voice
When writing, it is common to have passive sentences, as it comes out naturally since we are speaking in our heads. The grammarly application is able to pick up on the passive sentences so that you can later correct them.
