Difference between router and repeater
Have you ever thought of using a repeater to extend your wifi range yes it is easy to extend wifi range using a repeater? It works fine with secured and open wifi networks before setting up a secured you need to know the password of a wifi network which we want to extend wifi range.
ROUTER :
A router is a device that forwards data packets along with networks. A router connected to at least two networks, commonly two LANs or WANs or a LAN and its ISP’s network. Routers are located at gateways, the places where two or more networks connect.
Routers use headers and forwarding tables to determine the best path for forwarding the packets, and they use protocols such as asICMP to communicate with each other and configure the best route between any two hosts.
REPEATER:
A wireless repeater (also called wireless range extender) takes an existing signal from a wireless router or wireless access point and rebroadcasts it to create a second network.
The repeater is good if you don’t high capacity router it is very helpful to you.
Form Wiki : a repeater is an electronic device that receives a signal and retransmits it at a higher level or higher power, or onto the other side of an obstruction. so that the signal can cover longer distances.
There are many types or repeators some are:
- Telephone : Used to increase range of telephone signals
- Submarine cable : Used under water same as telephone
- Radio : To extend radio signal
- Analog : Used in chanals to transmit analog signals
- Digital : Used to transmit data by digital signals
Conclusion :
